China-Japan Crossover Science Symposium (CJCSS) 2005

The first circular

The China-Japan Crossover Science Symposium is mainly intended for
exchanges between researchers in different fields of biology,
chemistry, and physics. The symposium 2005 will be focused on the
physical and chemical understanding of the structure, function,
the place of reaction, the influence of ion beam in biological
systems such as protein and DNA, and many biological phenomena.

(2) Date and Place

Reception date is October 12. The symposium will begin in the
morning of Oct. 13, and end in the afternoon of Oct. 16. The
conference will be hosted and held in the Institute of Theoretical
Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.

(3) Talks and contributions

The symposium will consist of invited talks and contributions from
the participants. Contributions from students are encouraged.

The deadline for submission of abstract is August 1, 2005. It
should be submitted together with the registration and abstract
submission form.

(4) Registration and Local Fares

  1. The fares for registration and local expenses is US$250 for
     each participant.
  2. Each accompanying person should pay $150 for the welcome party,
     meals, banquet, local sight-seeing and the accommodation.
  3. The accomodation is at the guest houses of CAS. The rent for a
     professor's room is less than 40 US$,and the rent of the rooms
     for students is about 15 to 25 US$ depending on which guest
     house will take.

(5) Proceedings

The proceedings of this symposium will be published. The publisher
is not decided yet.

Details on the length of manuscripts and the LaTeX macro packages
necessary for their production will be sent out along with the
second circular.

(6) Visa, Tour and Weather

  1. If an invitation letter is necessary for your visa, please
     tell us when you return the registration form.
  2. A one-day excursion is planned during the symposium.
  3. The weather in October in Beijing is pleasant with temperature
     around 20 degree Celsius.
